From a quantum alignment in being team matched in consecutive KSCW ping-pong tournaments, to a connection borne of the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, Dana Christian Lee and Eytan Elterman are as close to the old school colloquialism ‘peas in a pod’ as it gets. Their shared interest in wellness that has culminated in their business, Shift Evolution, brings a unique stress-relief tool and perspective to Keller. Their friendship, banter, and energy does too.
Dana, coming from a background as a yoga teacher and wellness practitioner, blends those with her work as the executive director of Tell My Story, a local non-profit that engages with youth mental health and well-being. She describes her management of it all as classic entrepreneurial spirit, and says as a caveat, “It takes more discipline to work at Keller, but the advantages are clear. It attracts creative people, and manufactures connection like nowhere else.”
Eytan has a background as a filmmaker and editor, and pre-COVID ran a small media and travel agency working closely with sustainable development sectors of countries in Central America, assisting locally led tourism experiences in underrepresented economies. Once COVID happened, as we might expect, the bottom fell out of the whole thing. And It is indeed because of that quarantined era of life and time that both of them met here as coworkers; echoing Dana’s earlier statement, Eytan offered some sage commentary as to how they run their partnership saying, “applaud each other’s successes, and sit with the questions.” One could ask for nothing more from a teammate, and it fits perfectly with the character of their relationship.
Some of those questions led to what we know here as Shift Evolution, a chair and a service that uses pulse waves and other biofeedback to provide an experience that ‘shifts’ your nervous system. An encounter with a similar chair by Eytan in Big Sur left him “floating, yet alert and grounded” and following his return to Petaluma afterwards, Dana immediately marked an astounding difference in his mood and presence, and the spark of wellness curiosity was lit. Due diligence and a few months later, and it’s now here at Keller. While the phrase ‘dynamic duo’ is sometimes applied without the energy to have earned it, in this case the name is completely apt; they’re dynamic, outgoing, and every bit the coworking team members you’d want to know.
If you’re curious about weekly sessions in the chair or how it works, or are also interested in feeling floating yet grounded, say hello to these two and see what this energetic connection is all about!
